During this session, participants will engage with one another via strategies like Classroom Mingle and Sentence Stems/Frames with one another. The session will review LAS Links Español as a progress monitoring tool to support Spanish language acquisition, and how to triangulate academic achievement and language proficiency data to inform instructional planning and student language growth plans. All participants will receive a free copy of LAS Links Instructional Strategies.

In Dual Language and Bilingual Education programs, our goal is to develop bilingual and biliterate students who can reach academic proficiency and encompass the socio-cultural competence and critical consciousness to be positive contributors in communities. However, we often have to guess how well we are reaching that goal. In this session, we will explore ways we can measure towards bilingualism and biliteracy while considering the learning tools we choose to use. Participants will review the type of data that is currently used or is missing and make a plan for data-informed practices that will increase bilingualism and biliteracy in students.
