Dr. Angela Palmieri is a bilingual education researcher, professor, reading specialist, and consultant with over twenty-five years of experience as a scholar-practitioner in dual language and bilingual education. As the CEO and founder of the Institute for Multilingual Education, Dr. Palmieri draws from her extensive expertise to help schools and districts develop high-quality, research-based K-12 language programs. Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, Dr. Palmieri was raised trilingual and tricultural, speaking Italian, Spanish, and English, which fueled her passion for multilingual education. She is also the founding teacher of two K-5 Spanish dual language programs in California and spent twenty-one years teaching grades K-6th in Los Angeles, Detroit, and San Francisco in both Spanish dual language immersion and English-medium settings.With an educational doctorate (Ed.D.) from the Educational Leadership Program at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Dr. Palmieri has dedicated her career to advancing multilingualism in schools, fostering environments where students thrive academically and culturally through dual language immersion and world language programs.
